Be Reconciled

All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf:  Be reconciled to God—2 Cor. 5:18-20

The world is filled with isolated and lonely people, separated from God and one another. Reconciliation to God leads to the satisfaction of our need for friendship with Him and friendship with others. God wants to bring us to Him, despite how we separate ourselves from Him by rebellion and sin. Through Christ, our sins are no longer counted against us. We sought distance from Him; through Christ and in Christ, we, and the world, are reconciled to God to find unity with Him—the opposite of separation. This is the message He has committed to us, the ministry of reconciliation. As Christ’s ambassadors, God makes His appeal for reconciliation through us.

Father, thank You for Your ministry of reconciliation. Make me attuned to Your Spirit so I can give those separated from You the words of Your love. Let those separated from You turn to you in unity, and make me Your ambassador.

You are Christ’s ambassador. Reconcile others to Him.
