ROPE 2 for November, 2015

mount peak Everest

Reveal: Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds His people both now and forevermore. – Psalm 125:1-2

Observations: Stable, persevering, unshakable are those the Lord has chosen and who are committed to Him. He endows them with strength and everlasting stability. They are firm and steadfast, landmarks rising above shifting sands. And God Himself surrounds them, protecting them immovably now and forever. He can no more abandon us than can Everest lift itself from its foundations and stroll to the ocean. He has said it, and it is established and will never change. Hardship cannot shake us. Attacks cannot shatter us. The winds may blow, the rains may fall. We may be coated with the freezing snow and ice of trials, but we will stand as we trust in Him.

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your faithfulness. I need never wonder whether or not You are there, whether or not You care for me or will protect me from whatever comes. In the midst of changes and fashions and fads, of hardships and turmoil, You stand firm, surrounding Your people with love, and power, and peace. Make me stronger, Lord. Set me free to express my love for You as You desire, never again growing downcast at momentary failures or discouraged by setbacks—but rather imbue me with courage and endurance, and make me as faithful and unchanging as You are, because it is You I trust.

Exercise: Trust Him and you will not be shaken. You will endure forever. He surrounds you, no matter what happens.
